Whitevan ("Whitevan," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Whitevan on-demand home services platform that connects homeowners ("Customers") in Oklahoma City with independent local service professionals ("Pros"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
We collect information you provide directly (name, email, phone number, mailing address, profile photo, payment information, government-issued IDs and license/insurance documents for Pros, messages and reviews you post), information collected automatically when you use the Service (device identifiers, IP address, browser type, operating system, approximate or precise location when permitted, log and usage data, cookies and similar technologies), and information from third parties (identity verification, background-check providers, payment processors, OAuth providers such as Google, mapping providers, and fraud-prevention partners).
We use personal information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service; create and secure your account; match Customers with eligible Pros; process payments, tips, payouts, refunds, and taxes; verify identity and run background and license checks on Pros; send transactional notifications (push, email, SMS) about your jobs, security, and account; provide customer support; detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms; comply with legal obligations; and, where permitted, send service updates and marketing communications you can opt out of at any time.
We share personal information with: (a) the Customer or Pro counterparty needed to perform a job (e.g., first name, photo, approximate location, job details); (b) service providers acting on our behalf such as Stripe (payments and payouts), Supabase (authentication and storage), email and push delivery vendors, analytics, customer support, mapping, and background-check providers; (c) law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and property; and (d) acquirers or successors in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality protections. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
Card and bank information is collected and stored by our PCI-compliant payment processor (Stripe). Whitevan does not store full card numbers on our servers. Pros authorize Stripe Connect to receive payouts and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. Sales tax may be calculated, collected, and remitted by Stripe Tax on our behalf where applicable.
With your permission we collect approximate or precise location to dispatch nearby Pros, display ETAs, and verify on-site arrival. You can disable location at any time in your device settings; some features may not work without it.
Messages exchanged in the Whitevan chat are stored to provide the Service, support disputes, and improve safety. Calls placed through the platform may be masked and metadata logged. Do not share sensitive information through chat.
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and detect abuse. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, and to object to certain uses. To exercise these rights, email privacy@whitevan.co. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message or by adjusting notification preferences in your profile. Push notifications can be disabled in your device or browser settings.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active. When you cancel your account, your data — including your home profile, uploaded documents, AI reviews, photos, household records, maintenance history, messages, and any other content you've saved — remains accessible to you through the end of the billing month in which you requested cancellation. At the end of that period your account and all associated personal data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If you sign up again later, you must re-upload every document and re-enter all data. We may retain a minimal record of financial transactions, dispute history, and other information required by law (e.g., tax, audit, fraud-prevention obligations), held for at least seven (7) years in compliance with applicable regulations.
You may cancel your account at any time from Profile & Settings. We will display a clear summary of what will be deleted and when before you confirm. Once deletion executes at the end of your current billing period, restoration is not possible — Whitevan does not maintain backups of deleted accounts beyond the short windows required by our infrastructure providers for disaster recovery, after which those copies are purged. If you change your mind before the scheduled date, you can reverse the cancellation from the same screen.
We use technical and organizational safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you and regulators as required by law.
The Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@whitevan.co.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other U.S. states with applicable privacy laws have the rights described in Section 9 and the right to appeal a denial of a privacy request. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service from outside the U.S. you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email at least seven (7) days before they take effect.
